Tablet PCs made by Dell that has the code name 'cum' success so warm conversation in Indonesia. But finally, Dell decided not to use the quirky name when the product is released to the market.
According to Dell, using code names for products that have not been released is a common practice in the technology industry, Dell is no exception.
"But the code names will not be used as external branding of products which will be formally released it," said Dell, in his official statement to ITGazine on Friday (22/07/2011).
Dell himself says, the code name 'cum' itself was inspired from the name of the wine producing regions in Napa Valley, California, United States.
"As one of the largest producers in the region, 'semen' was selected to represent the code name of a product that will come," he said.
Dell semen is a tablet PC that carries the Windows operating system. The display device has high definition resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and comes Gorilla Glass to make it more resilient to face scratches.
Jeroannya the didayai Intel Core i5 and 4GB of RAM promises good performance. Equipped with two cameras, this tablet also has a microSD slot, VGA port, HDMI slot and a slot for the SIM Card. The battery is claimed to last between 6 to 8 hours.
OS Windows 7 is considered less suitable for tablets, but reportedly one tablet that is already compatible with Windows 8. With all its advantages, it probably makes it quite competitive.
